The Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor is an advanced continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system designed to provide seamless, real-time glucose management for individuals with diabetes. Offering up to 15 days of continuous wear — an extension over the original Libre 2 — this small, discreet sensor is applied to the back of the upper arm and continuously measures glucose levels in the interstitial fluid without requiring routine fingersticks.

The sensor automatically transmits glucose readings every minute directly to a compatible smartphone via Bluetooth® connectivity, delivering real-time data, trend arrows, and actionable insights. Enhanced accuracy, especially in the low glucose range, helps users detect and respond to hypoglycemia more effectively.

A key feature of the Libre 2 Plus is its integration with the Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ™ technology, enabling a hybrid closed-loop system that automatically adjusts basal insulin based on glucose trends — supporting improved time-in-range and reduced glycemic variability.

The sensor is water-resistant, allowing for worry-free use during showering, swimming, and exercise. Its simple, one-touch applicator ensures quick, comfortable, and nearly painless application.

Designed for individuals aged 4 years and older, the Libre 2 Plus supports comprehensive diabetes management for those with Type 1, Type 2, or gestational diabetes. It pairs with the FreeStyle Libre 2 app for easy tracking, alerts, and data sharing with caregivers or healthcare providers.
