The Koala External IPC-5000E is a single-use, sterile intrauterine pressure catheter with an external balloon. It is intended for use in fetal monitoring during labor and delivery. The catheter is inserted into the uterus through the cervix and the balloon is inflated to apply gentle pressure to the uterine wall. This pressure helps to keep the catheter in place and provides a continuous measurement of intrauterine pressure (IUP).
