The Arthrex NanoFX® Thumb Tab Accessory is a reusable component of the NanoFX (Nanofracture) system, designed to enable precise, controlled delivery of a minimally invasive bone marrow stimulation technique for treating articular cartilage defects. When used with the reusable NanoFX Hand Instrument and the single-use 1 mm PleuriStik™ Guide Wire, this accessory allows surgeons to perform nanofracture procedures that are smaller, deeper, and more targeted than traditional microfracture techniques.

The system achieves standardized penetration depth of up to 9 mm, reaching deeper into the subchondral bone to access a greater concentration of reparative marrow cells — three times deeper than conventional methods. The 1 mm PleuriStik disrupts less surface area, minimizing damage to the subchondral plate while promoting a robust healing response. This advanced approach supports improved cartilage repair outcomes in patients with focal chondral lesions.
