The Ethicon 359997 is a sterile, synthetic absorbable suture made from polydioxanone (PDS II™), a flexible monofilament material that provides long-lasting wound support with predictable absorption. This violet-colored suture measures 6-0 in size and 30 inches (76 cm) in length, and is pre-attached to a BV-2 (½ circle) cutting needle for precise placement in delicate soft tissue approximation.

Designed for procedures requiring extended tensile strength retention — up to 6 weeks — PDS-II sutures are ideal for use in pediatric cardiovascular surgery where tissue growth is expected, ophthalmic surgery, and general soft tissue ligation or closure.
