There is a range of needle sizes and lengths available for epidural anesthesia. An interior stylet is useful in stabilizing the needle tube during puncture. When the epidural anesthetic needle for neuraxial anesthesia has reached its anatomical site, the stylet is removed. Then, for ease of continuous anesthetic injection, an epidural catheter is inserted into the epidural cavities. The Tuohy needle is available from Sol-M Epidural Needle as a continuous epidural anesthesia catheter system or as a single shot option.
