Roche Accu-Chek® Guide blood glucose meter is a single-patient use blood glucose monitoring system intended to be used to quantitatively measure glucose in fresh capillary whole blood from the finger, palm, and upper arm as an aid in monitoring the effectiveness of glucose control.

Construction

Roche Accu-Chek® Guide blood glucose meters are constructed using medical-grade plastic. The product remains intact for a long time and keeps on providing accurate results. Two 3-volt coin-cell batteries are also provided with the system.

Applications

Roche Accu-Chek® Guide blood glucose meters have the following applications in diabetic management:

• Blood Glucose Estimation: Roche Accu-Chek® Guide blood glucose meters are employed for estimating the glucose levels in a blood sample. The blood sample is collected using a sterile lancet and a lancing device. Both of these conduct the job of finger pricking. The sample is then loaded on a test strip and read using the Roche Accu-Chek blood glucose monitor.

The Roche Accu-Chek® Guide blood glucose meter comes in a box that keeps it protected until the time of use. The product, when exposed to extremely high or low temperatures and direct sunlight, can give inaccurate BGL values.

Caution

• Always calibrate blood glucose meters to achieve the best results.
• Clean and disinfect glucose meters after every use.
• Store the glucometer in the box or case provided with the product.
• Always keep glucose meters at a place where falling risk could be avoided.

Warning

• Avoid sharing a glucose meter among multiple diabetic patients.
• Avoid exposing glucose meters to extremely high temperatures.
• Do not refrigerate the glucose meter
• Do not use an unclean glucose meter to avoid the risk of infections.
• The lancets must be stored in their protective bags till the time of use to maintain sterility.
